Our Concerned Person Program is a unique component of the Residential Treatment plan at the Recovery Center. This successful program allows families the opportunity to share in their loved one’s group therapy experience on Wednesdays from 5:00-7:30 p.m. The safe environment created during these sessions encourages open, honest and at times, painful dialogue surrounding issues that led to addiction or substance abuse. Strategies to increase communication and re-build trust are also provided.
After the group session, family members then have a private group meeting with a certified counselor to better understand their loved one’s experience at the Recovery Center and it also provides the family with a chance to learn from and support one another. During this time, education is offered to better understand the next steps for the recovering addict, and how family and friends can help facilitate and encourage a healthy and addiction free lifestyle.
